Sourcing
Program rules, dollar amounts, income limits, and eligibility criteria are checked against the agency that administers the program — USDA, SSA, CMS, HUD, IRS, Department of Labor, and their state counterparts — not against other websites. Where a guide states a figure, it links to the primary source so you can verify it yourself.
Dated figures
Benefit amounts and thresholds change, usually annually. We label changing figures with their program year ("for fiscal year 2026") and tell you to confirm current amounts with the administering agency before acting. If a guide's figures have aged, that is a correction we want to hear about.
No invented statistics
If we cannot trace a number to a primary source, we do not publish it. We do not use manufactured urgency, invented survey results, or "billions are waiting for you" framing.
